Who we are

This website is operated by Karim Abdi, trading as Muse & Paw, registered for individual activity in the Republic of Lithuania, at Konstitucijos pr. 23, 08106 Vilnius. VAT identification number LT100019188511. You can reach us at support@museandpaw.store.

We are the data controller for the personal information described on this page. That means we decide why it is collected and what happens to it.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

What we collect and why

When you place an order

Your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, what you ordered, and the amount paid.

We need this to make your piece, ship it, email you about it, handle returns, and keep the accounting records Lithuanian law requires us to keep. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you, and our legal obligation for the tax records.

We never see your full card number. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments and the card details go straight to them.

When you contact us

Your email address and whatever you write to us. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of what was agreed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a business people can talk to.

When you sign up for emails

Your email address, and whether you opened or clicked. We use it to send you occasional emails about new work. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.

When you review a piece

After your order arrives, we may email you once to ask for a review. Reply "no reviews" and we won't ask again. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in hearing how your order went, and you can object at any time.

If you send one, we publish it with your first name and city, plus any photo or video, only with your consent, and remove it whenever you ask at support@museandpaw.store.

When you browse the site

Pages you looked at, what you added to your basket, roughly where you are from your IP address, your device and browser, and how you arrived here. We use it to keep the shop working, to understand what people are interested in, and to measure our advertising. The legal basis is your consent for anything that is not strictly necessary to run the site, and our legitimate interest in a working, secure shop for the rest.

Cookies and tracking

Some cookies are necessary. They remember your basket, keep you logged in, and stop the checkout breaking. The site cannot work without them.

Others are not necessary, and we only use them if you agree. These are the ones that measure how the shop performs and tell our advertising whether it worked.

We use the Meta pixel on this site. It tells Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, that a browser visited a page, added something to a basket, or completed an order. We use it to see whether our advertising is reaching people who actually want the work, and to avoid showing ads to people who already bought. Some of that information is sent to Meta from your browser and some from our own systems. It is matched against Meta accounts using a scrambled version of your email address, which means Meta may be able to recognise you.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this site, and you can control what Meta does with your data in your own Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

Who else sees your information

Only the companies that help us run the shop, and only for that purpose. None of them are allowed to sell it or use it for their own marketing.

  • Shopify, which hosts this store and processes payments.
  • Our print partner in Vilnius, which produces your piece.
  • Couriers, which need your address and phone number to deliver it.
  • Meta, for advertising measurement, if you agreed to it.
  • Our email provider, if you subscribed.
  • Our accountant and the Lithuanian tax authority, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we do not intend to.

Information leaving the EU

Some of the companies above are based outside the European Economic Area, or store data there. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply to a particular provider.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records for ten years, because Lithuanian tax law requires it.

Emails you send us for three years after we last spoke, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back.

Newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and then we remove you.

Published reviews until you ask us to remove them.

Browsing and advertising data for up to two years, usually much less.

Your rights

Under EU law you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
  •  anything that is wrong, delete it, where we do not have a legal reason to keep it; restrict what we do with it while a question is being sorted out send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format, stop using it, where we rely on legitimate interest,
  • withdraw your consent, at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

Email support@museandpaw.store and say what you want. We reply within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate, Valstybine duomenu apsaugos inspekcija, at ada.lt, or to the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live.

Children

This shop is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection, payment details never reach us, and access to order information is limited to the two of us and the providers listed above. No system is perfect, but if something goes wrong that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page. The version published when you place an order is the version that applies to it.
